Publishing principles
These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They exist so readers, and the language models that cite us, can tell the difference between FatGPS and an autogenerated affiliate farm.
Sourcing
- Technical claims are backed by primary sources: ITU-T, 3GPP, GNSS operators, vendor documentation, peer-reviewed research.
- Product claims come from hands-on testing, manufacturer spec sheets, or cited third-party lab tests. We note which of these applies in each review.
- Legal statements reference the specific statute or regulation, with jurisdiction and effective date.
Testing and reviews
- We rent, buy or borrow review units. We disclose when a unit is provided by the manufacturer.
- Review units do not earn a better verdict than other options. We publish critical reviews of loaned units when appropriate.
- Field-test conditions are described honestly: location, duration, device pairing, signal environment.
Affiliate disclosure
Some articles contain affiliate links that pay us a commission when you purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. We mark every affiliate link and disclose the relationship at the top of any page that contains one. We recommend products without affiliate deals whenever they are the best fit, and we decline affiliate partnerships for products we do not trust.
AI usage
We use AI tools to draft outlines, check grammar and translate content. Every published piece is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human before it goes live. We do not publish content that is machine-translated without review, and we do not auto-generate reviews from spec sheets.
Corrections
When an article is materially wrong, we correct it. Substantial corrections include a dated note at the top of the article explaining what changed. Minor fixes (typos, broken links) are made silently.
Independence
No advertiser, affiliate partner or commercial relationship has editorial veto. Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team, not by the business side.
